An Archive of Ideas — Including Those I've Since Reconsidered
Satoshi’s Page has changed considerably since I first began writing it.
For many years, much of my work was driven by a growing conviction that Bitcoin offered an answer to problems I had discovered within our monetary and political systems. I wrote about those ideas as I understood them at the time, sometimes reaching conclusions that I would express differently today.
I could quietly rewrite those articles or remove the ones that no longer fit my current thinking.
I have chosen not to.
Changing your mind is part of thinking. If I am going to question established ideas, institutions and other people’s assumptions, I think I should be equally willing to expose my own ideas to the same scrutiny.
This archive therefore preserves earlier writing largely as it was originally published. It is not intended to represent everything I believe today. Instead, it provides a record of the questions I was asking, the conclusions I reached and the path that eventually led to the work I am doing now.
If you encounter something here that contradicts something I’ve written more recently, that may be the most interesting part.
